Lexi: gerne, mache auch gerne Koordination

Karsten: gerne. Macht auch Zusammenfassung der Beiträge und die Produktion der Bände

Dominik: Ich wäre grundsätzlich auch dabei

Bekanntmachung

CALL FOR PAPERS AND PARTICIPATION

2nd PET-Convention (PET-CON 2008.1)

Organized by RWTH Aachen, University of Bamberg,
University of Frankfurt, University of Kassel
and University of Regensburg.

Hosted in Aachen, Germany
February 11th, 2008

We invite you to attend PET-CON 2008.1 - the second convention
in Germany in the area of Privacy Enhancing Techniques. We plan
to bring together researchers, students, developers and other
interested people to discuss novel research, current development
and techniques. The convention is organized by no single entity,
but rather a group of people from the universities mentioned above.

Topics covered by the convention

- abuse detection/protection
- anonymous routing
- application layer privacy
- end-user education and training (in the PET area)
- location privacy
- new ideas and paradigms for PETs
- quality of protection in PETs
- quality of service in anonymizing networks
- related law issues
- trust negotiations and establishment in anonymizing networks

Convention program

The program will consist of short talks (no more that 10 minutes)
of the attending people, followed by interactive discussions.
Afterwards we will split in subgroups and work on current topics
of research and exchange ideas. The time line of the program will
start at 01.00 pm and will continue until the evening.

In addition to the talks, PET-CON provides its participants with a
unique opportunity: you can submit an extended abstract of your
work to a conference-style submission system, and you will receive
reviews. Your submission should be in LNCS format, contain
illustrations and have three to five pages including appendices and
bibliography. After the review process, authors are expected to
revise their work according to the feedback provided. The revised
versions will then be electronically published and printed as
technical report. This will allow other participants and users to
cite your work and remember what you talked about. At the same time,
you're still free to publish your work at real conferences.

Registration

If you would like to attend the convention, please mail your name and
affiliation to registration@pet-con.org. Please do not forget to
include the subject of your talk if you plan to present your work.
Detailed information about the submission process will be published
at the web site (www.pet-con.org) in due time.

Note that you may give a talk without submitting an extended abstract
before the convention. You may also attend the convention without
giving a talk at all.

Important Dates

- Submission deadline for extended abstracts: 27.01.2008 (16:00 CET sharp)
- Reviews available on 01.02.2008
- Registration until 04.02.2008
- Revised Versions due on 05.02.2008 (16:00 CET sharp)
