Location and How To Get There

The event takes place in Aachen, Germany. It is physically hosted by RWTH Aachen University. We have a conference room in the Building of Computer Science - room number 5052.

The building complex is called RWTH Hörn (official street address: Ahornstr 55, Aachen - but the entry is closer to Mies-Van-der-Rohe-Strasse) and contains the computer science faculty. You can find the room close to building E2. The complex has (at least) six entrances, but all through the buildings there are coloured maps to guide your way.

There are several ways to get there:

  • By Bus: From the central railway station find the next main street (Theaterstr) and the bus stop Wallstrasse at N 50° 46.266' E 6° 5.469'. Take line 33 from there to Halifaxstr. The ride takes about 25min and costs 2 to 3 EUR. You can also take any bus to the central bus station and any from the lines 15, 23, 75, or 33 to the Halifaxstr.
  • By Train: exit at Aachen West, go down to the street, turn right and follow the road up hill. Take the next street left for more uphill walking. After 300m the building is on your right.
  • By Car: Leave the highway 44 at exit Aachen Laurensberg. Turn right at the traffic lights towards Aachen. Follow the expressway, change direction towards RWTH-Klinikum. Take the third exit to the Halifaxstrasse. Turn left the second to the Mies-v.d.-Rohe Straße, use our carpark on the left behind the building.
  • By Foot: Walk to N 50° 46.699' E 6° 3.647' (the coordinates are directly from the conference room). The faculty's building is on top of a hill, so expect a lot of uphill walking (about 60m height difference to the town). (You may consider to take a second shirt with you, just in case.)

For accommodations, please contact the local host for more information - please include the date of your arrival, the date of departure, and an estimated amount of money you're willing to pay per night in your request.

More information on the voluntary submission process

The formal Call for Papers has been published on Monday Dec 17th 2007.

For those participants who would like to practice the art of writing academic papers, we will establish a voluntary submission process with peer-reviewed proceedings. In order to participate in the submission process, you have to write a conference-style extended abstract for your talk and submit it before the convention. However, we will (most likely) not reject submissions during the review process, but rather use this procedure to provide more structural feedback to the participants rather than only ad-hoc feedback during the talks.

Please send you submissions by email to submission(at)pet(dash)con(dot)org. The work should be formatted in LNI-style and have 3 to 8 pages in DIN-A4 format. Please do submit PDF-Files, if possible. Together with a copy of your work please provide us with the following information:

  • Your name and affiliation
  • Names of additional authors
  • E-Mail address and telephone number
  • Your consent to publish your Name and affiliation on this page (optional)

Your name and affiliation will be (with your consent) published on this web page; name, affiliation and email address will appear in the printed proceedings; the telephone number will be kept strictly internal and deleted after the workshop - its intended use is for urgent requests during the editing phase of the proceedings.

Submission of extended abstracts will be possible until January 27th, the reviews will be made available until February 1st. Camera ready copies must be re-submitted until February 5th (sharp!) in order to appear in the proceedings.

Note: Submissions are optional! You can give a talk without submitting an extended abstract beforehand. You can also passively attend the convention without giving a talk at all.

Registration

If you would like to attend the convention, please mail your name and affiliation to registration (at) pet-con (dot) org. Please do not forget to include the subject of your talk if you plan to present your work. Detailed information about the submission process will be published at the web site (www.pet-con.org) in due time.

Note that you may give a talk without submitting an extended abstract before the convention. You may also attend the convention without giving a talk at all.
